Make the First Five Count

young child with occupational therapist

Every year, millions of young children with undiagnosed disabilities enter school with issues that can put them behind their peers.  This is frustrating for the child and the family and it can create a lasting, negative impact on the child's educational process.

When children with special needs are diagnosed early and receive the necessary services to strengthen their abilities, a negative situation can turn into a very desirable, positive one.  In an environment where a child can thrive, the differences in ability can be astounding.

Easter Seals Crossroads realizes this and as an Easter Seals affiliate, we are excited to be part of a national campaign to Make the First Five Count - an advocacy and awareness campaign to give all kids a good start in a lifetime of learning.

As a First Steps provider, we offer therapy services designed to bring out the best in your child.  We know what to emphasize and we do it in a fun, nurturing way.  We offer physical and occupational therapies, as well as speech-language therapy services.  We have enrichment programs for children that respond to the needs in our community.  We are an agency that emphasizes ability at every age.

To learn if your child is at risk, take the Ages & Stages Questionnaires.  If the results indicate a need for developmental services, the children's programs at Easter Seals Crossroads can help you at every age and stage. If you believe our legislators need to know about the importance of helping all children reach their full learning potential, sign the Easter Seals petition today!
