Summer Camp Positions
Easterseals Crossroads has openings for lead counselors and assistants this summer for two of its popular camps – CampAbility and Camp FUEL. Camp positions are temporary, full-time positions for summer, starting June 4 through July 20, 2018, Mondays through Fridays, from approximately 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
CampAbility is a traditional day camp for children with disabilities who are ages 4 – 10. Camp consists of indoor and outdoor activities in a fun, nurturing environment that includes theme days, field trips and more.
Camp FUEL is a camp for adolescents with disabilities who are ages 11 – 17. Camp consists of activities for skill building, field trips and peer mentoring.
Certified nursing assistants
We currently have openings for dynamic, enthusiastic, motivated CNAs in our Adult Day Services programs. These positions are full-time, day shift, no weekends or holidays with excellent benefits! The Adult Day Service programs serve adults with developmental disabilities. The primary function of this position to assist consumers to meet their individual goals through skills training, educational opportunities, and activity implementation. CNAs are responsible to lead group and individual activities/educational opportunities/community trips while maintaining the health and safety of consumers.
This position is shared between two departments, and time will be split as follows:
Monday – Wednesday – Friday
Accounting Department, Easterseals Crossroads (4740 Kingsway Drive)
This position is responsible for processing AP batches and petty cash batches, a small volume of AR billing, and maintaining accreditation records.
Tuesday – Thursday
Administrative Department, Crossroads Industrial Services Office (8302 East 33rd Street)
This position assists with general AR/AP work. Experience in QuickBooks is preferred.
Temporary Camp Nurse
Camp ROCKS is an outdoor camp specifically designed for young people with autism who are 10 to 18 years of age. Campers enjoy a 5-night/6-day outdoor camp experience. Age-appropriate activities allow campers the opportunity to enjoy an outdoor camping experience in a fun, nurturing environment. Activities include science exploration, swimming, nature hikes, horseback riding, canoeing and much more!
Our small camp size, with a camper population typically around 80 campers, makes for a manageable, enjoyable work load. As a nurse at Camp ROCKS, daily duties include: dispensing camper and staff medications, providing first-aid, keeping accurate records of camper visits to the medical center, and maintaining an organized, clean medical center. Meals and lodging are provided on the grounds of Bradford Woods, a scenic camp just outside of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Positions are available for the entire week or for a selection of days during the week of camp. Additional positions are also available to assist with the check-in process on Sunday, June 17.
Current Indiana nursing license required. RN and LPN positions available.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
The Adult Day Service programs serve adults with developmental disabilities. The primary function of this position to assist consumers to meet their individual goals through skills training, educational opportunities, and activity implementation. CNAs are responsible to lead group and individual activities/educational opportunities/community trips while maintaining the health and safety of consumers.
This position will work as part of the maintenance team providing janitorial, maintenance, landscaping and other support related duties to the building and staff. Must have the ability to work independently and make independent decisions, must have excellent judgment and problem solving skills, the ability to multi-task and prioritize and communicate effectively with staff, consumers and visitors. Experience repairing mechanical breakdowns, plumbing, and painting is desired. This is a full-time position with excellent benefits.
The behavioral technician will provide direct behavioral support services for individuals with autism and their families. The behavioral technician, under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and Licensed Psychologist will directly implement behavior intervention and skill-acquisition plans with consumers and their families. Services are primarily clinic based, but the clinical therapist must have the ability to travel within the community to various locations and settings.
Developmental Therapist – First Steps Provider
Easterseals Crossroads is searching for an enthusiastic developmental therapist to join our team as an independent contractor in delivering early intervention services. Indiana license required. Therapist with current credentials as an Indiana First Steps provider are desired. Easterseals Crossroads serves children and their families in the Indianapolis area as well as Hamilton and Tipton counties.
Community Mentors provide one-on-one services and supports to assist individuals with disabilities meet personal goals. The Community Mentor assists and supports individuals in being an active member of their community and to gain skills to enhance the individual’s quality of life. This position offers flexible hours, which makes it perfect for college students and for those looking for part-time work. Reliable transportation, a valid Indiana driver’s license and proof of auto insurance required for this position.
Occupational Therapist – First Steps Provider
Easterseals Crossroads is searching for enthusiastic Occupational Therapists to join our team as independent contractors in delivering early intervention services. Our full and part time openings include a part time need with an existing caseload available to be assumed in early August. Easterseals Crossroads has a long history of meeting the needs of children and their families. Crossroads Industrial Services is seeking Electro-Mechanical Assemblers. Qualified candidates will have some soldering experience, 20/20 vision with or without glasses and self motivation to work independently and not be easily distracted.
Crossroads Industrial Services has openings for Utility Assemblers. Qualified candidates should:
- Posses excellent hand dexterity and hand / eye coordination and vision
- Be able to complete any production job assignment within the department with excellent quality results
- Be able to work independently with on-the-job training in a fast-paced production environment
- Be able to read and follow instructions correctly, stay on task and be dependable
- Be able to pick up 30 lbs, bend, stand and sit
- Perform other duties as assigned
The licensed psychologist will complete diagnostic evaluations, provide individual and family psychotherapy, consult with other professionals and agencies, and provide clinical supervision.
Minimum Requirements include: Doctorate degree from an accredited program, licensed to practice in the state of Indiana as a Health Service Provider in Psychology (HSPP). The preferred candidate will have experience with autism spectrum disorder, behavior intervention, and working as part of an interdisciplinary team.
RESPITE CARE PROVIDER
This position is responsible for maintaining a safe, healthy environment for children with disabilities ages 6 months to 12 years old during our Parent’s Night Out evenings. Responsibilities include facilitating activities, managing behaviors, preparing snacks and maintaining cleanliness. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be able to read/understand and implement activities and programs. Also requires the ability to build rapport with children, families, co-workers and volunteers. Previous experience in early childhood programs preferred, but not required. CPR/First Aid certifications preferred; TB test and limited criminal history check required. This position will be approximately 5 hours per week; nights and locations may vary.
